During his seven seasons in Sacramento, he wore the number 15 jersey and became one of the league’s best centers, excelling in versatile scoring and impressive rebounding. With this number, he was selected to the All-Star team three times in a row (2015-2017) and to the All-NBA Second Team twice.

Later, the number 15 jersey remained with DeMarcus Cousins across several teams, including the Houston Rockets, LA Clippers, and Milwaukee Bucks. For Cousins, the number 15 represented a modern-day “big man,” possessing both physical strength and the passing and shooting skills of a guard.

Monroe is a truly exceptional case of the number 15 jersey in NBA history. When Earl Monroe transferred from the Baltimore Bullets to the New York Knicks in 1971, he had to change his jersey number because his familiar number 10 was already being worn by Walt “Clyde” Frazier.
